Global Justice Since 1970

iz3w — an abbreviation of "informationszentrum 3. welt" (Third World Information Centre) — is one of the oldest and most important German-language magazines devoted to international politics and global justice. Founded in 1970 in Freiburg, the publication appears six times a year and analyses the relationships between the Global North and South with a critical perspective that treats colonial continuities, racism, migration, and development policy not as peripheral concerns but as the central questions of our time.

Each issue is thematically structured and bridges academic depth with journalistic accessibility. Contributors include scholars, activists, and journalists who know their subjects not only from theory but from lived experience. For over five decades, iz3w has been the publication for anyone who refuses to accept global injustice as inevitable and who seeks the intellectual tools to understand and challenge it.
