The Stinging Fly magazine was founded in 1997 with the goal of discovering, publishing, and promoting the finest new Irish and worldwide literature.
The editors feel that there is a need for a journal that, first and foremost, offers young and developing authors a platform to publish their work. They are especially interested with providing a venue for short story authors.
