The Adbusters Media Foundation is a non-profit, consumer-critical group created in Vancouver, Canada in 1989 by Kalle Lasn and Bill Schmalz. Adbusters magazine, which is ad-free and sponsored by its audience and members/activists, is published by the Foundation. In line with its moniker, the journal began with an emphasis on advertising but has now shifted its focus to the influence of consumerism, social concerns, and international politics. Adbusters has organized a number of worldwide initiatives, including Buy Nothing Day, TV Turnoff Week, and, most notably, the Occupy Wall Street protests. Adbusters publishes a large number of letters to the editor, including critical ones.

Adbusters is a global network of artists, activists, authors, pranksters, students, educators, educators, and entrepreneurs working to promote the Information Age's new social movement. Their objective is to destabilize the current power structures and usher in a dramatic shift in the direction of our way of life in the twenty-first century.
