White Fungus is a Taiwanese arts magazine and publishing platform.

In the spirit of complete anarchy, the publishing started in 2004. It began as a pseudo-anonymous protest in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand, against corporate interests trumping community values and concerns.

The inaugural issue of White Fungus was a protest against the construction of an inner-city highway through the city's cultural area. This would force artists out of their studios and demolish historic structures. Copies were produced on a photocopier, wrapped in Christmas paper, and thrown anonymously through the doors of local businesses by a group of journalism and design students.

The title of the magazine is derived from a can of "white fungus," a commercially manufactured pulped beverage created in Taichung City, Taiwan's industrial zone. Each magazine cover is based on a scan of the can. White Fungus has been headquartered in Taiwan since 2009.
