The multilingual magazine EIKON is broken into two sections:

The first section, under the category "Portfolio," is a discussion forum for artists. It focuses on presenting and promoting emerging artists working in photography, media art, and other multidisciplinary subjects. The introduction of new creative methods by experienced artists is another constant in the "Portfolio." The magazine's tight connection with the featured artists is a key aspect. EIKON's guiding concept has always been to expose Austrian artists on a regular basis in order to develop their worldwide profile.

The second, monochrome section of the magazine includes, on the one hand, the main topic of the respective issue in the section "In Focus" (introduced in 2014), which is proposed and curated by a group of international experts each time, providing a broad platform for current topics in the arts and cultural policy.

The section "Forum," on the other hand, exposes readers to fascinating organizations, collections, galleries, (artist) groups, or otherwise significant persons via portraits, interviews, or the like. The journal also includes book reviews, exhibition reviews, and information on grants, awards, and events.
