CARNALE

EroticaFashion

Dirty, Daring, and Very Milanese

Carnale is the brainchild of art director Augusto Arduini and photographer Simone Cossettini, and it operates exactly at the intersection where their two practices collide. The magazine is an independent editorial project centred on fashion and eros, with a biennial rhythm and a Milanese libido. It celebrates attraction in all its forms with a frankness that most fashion publications would consider reckless and most erotic publications would consider restrained. The word carnale means "of the flesh" in Italian, and the magazine lives up to its name without descending into the predictable.

The visual language is deliberate, the editorial choices are considered, and the overall effect is of a publication that understands desire as a creative force rather than a marketing tool. Cross-media is built into the concept: the paper edition is interactive, the digital presence is private, and there are hidden areas designed to be deciphered rather than consumed passively. Milan has always been a city that understands the relationship between fashion and the body — a city where the cut of a garment is discussed with the same precision as the architecture of a building.

Carnale takes that understanding and pushes it into territory that polite society prefers to leave unexamined. It is dirty in the best sense of the word: honest about what it wants, unapologetic about how it shows it, and intelligent enough to know that the most interesting thing about desire is not what it looks like but what it reveals.
