The Only Poster in the World Registered as a Magazine

Posterzine is People of Print's monthly publishing project, and the format is brilliantly simple: a single sheet of paper that folds into an A4 mini-magazine and unfolds into a gorgeous A1 poster. It is, according to the British Library — where it is officially registered with its own ISSN number — the only poster in the world that is also a magazine.

Each issue features a different artist or designer, with an exclusive interview woven through the magazine side and the artist's work displayed in full glory on the poster side. Now past its hundredth issue, Posterzine has collaborated with everyone from design legend Eike König (the first issue, interviewed by writer Liv Siddall) to a 100-year-old Guatemalan surrealist. The project was inspired by Felix Dennis's poster magazines of the 1970s and printed by Pressision Ltd on G.F. Smith paper using two special Pantone spot colours, ensuring no two issues look the same.

At £7.99 with free worldwide shipping, Posterzine is affordable art for the masses — a publication you read, then hang on your wall, then replace with the next issue. Stocked at Tate Modern, MoMA, Magma, and magCulture, it proves that print innovation doesn't require a budget — just a single sheet of paper and a very good idea.
