WHALEBONE, a lifestyle magazine, began by printing T-shirts and distributing magazines in an old van throughout Montauk, New York, and has since expanded. It's still there, in a way. The editors aren't exactly in a hurry, which is sure to irritate anybody reading this who is wondering why the current issue of Whalebone Magazine is taking so long to come in the mail. Hold on, it'll be there shortly.
According to the editors, the magazine was once dubbed "possibly the world's ninth-best publication," but they prefer to think of themselves as a community of like-minded people who all believe that being delightfully disoriented and putting some fun into the world isn't the worst way to spend some time.
